Looking back through the grainy photographs of our lives in Zambia, trying to choose our favourites for this introduction, we realise how privileged we have been to have created so many amazing memories together! Kevin Coke Norris and myself, Nicola Coke Norris were both born in Zimbabwe, but after the Zanu PF in Zimbabwe took our family farms and livelihoods away, we both moved to the United Kingdom for a better future. London was where we met, along with Gavin Saussey we all formed a close friendship together.
But eventually Africa would call us back, it is embedded deep in our souls. Our families set up a banana farm in Chirundu, in the Southern province of Zambia. Both our wonderful boys were born on African soil and we have been blessed to have raised them here in our big wide African playground.
As a family, we spend many weekends in the Kafue National Park and Lower Zambezi National Parks. We are passionate about wildlife and our natural surroundings. Our children have been brought up on the roof rack of our very loyal and trustworthy big old Toyota Landcruiser, scanning the bush for hours and hours while on game safaris. We have taught our children a great respect for the fauna, flora and wildlife of our amaziing country.
It was during one of our adventures, somewhere along the Lower Zambezi River that we decided that we would love to showcase our beautiful Zambia to the world.
With the guidance and advice of our New Zealand partner Gavin Saussey, who has travelled extensively and experienced many tours throughout the world, our tour slowly started to take shape.
This is how Far Out Tours was born.
